Mastering Self-Accountability: A Guide to Daily Self-Auditing and Its Benefits

What Is Self-Auditing?

Self-auditing is a simple, self-reflection exercise. The main objective of a self‐audit is to help you evaluate and improve your overall experience in all areas of your life.

How Do You Self-Audit?

"WHATEVER YOU ARE NOT CHANGING, YOU ARE CHOOSING."

Self-auditing can be an ongoing mental practice throughout your every day. Or if desired, you can also eliminate all distractions and sit comfortably with yourself in your preferred environment to reflect, direct your energy, dream, & create.

Start by practicing being present. Consciously b r e a t h e. Listen to and observe the stories in your mind. Become aware of your habits, actions, words, attitudes, triggers... ALL OF YOU.

Identify any outdated mental programs and limiting beliefs. Replace them with true to you, empowering thoughts every single time the old outdated programs and limiting belief systems surface.

Ask yourself intimate questions. About anything and everything!

Be 100% honest and constructive with yourself.

Be fearless enough to befriend yourself, to go deep... So deep... Into the depths of YOU.

Where are you thriving?

Where are you holding yourself back?

How much unconditional love can you give to yourself and others?

How patient & understanding can you be with yourself and others?

What are you grateful for?

What are your goals?

Are you really showing up?

How do you feel? Physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, financially, within your relationships, with your business/job, etc…

What do you want more or less of?

Can you be content and grateful for what is, right here, right N O W regardless of any outside circumstance?

Can you be thankful for your hardships? For the darkness teaching you what light is?

What are the first steps you can take TODAY that will help you to move in the direction of your dreams?

Do you have daily habits that support you with where you want to go, who you want to be, and how you want to live?

If you are asking anyone in your life for support in anyway, are you ALSO giving that support to yourself?

Take as much time as you need to check in with yourself on every level, every day.

THE GREATEST INVESTMENT YOU WILL MAKE IS ON YOU.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This exercise can be as simple as a conscious mental conversation with yourself as you go about your every day! This awareness exercise doesn’t have to be something that you sit down to do. Though I highly recommend MAKING time to sit down with a pen + paper & write your heart out about your current goals, your action plan on how you can achieve them, long term dreams, etc. & to compliment that, another SUPER supportive tool is making daily to do "to create," lists (& STICKING TO IT) to stay on track with your vision & goals.

The goal of self-auditing is to be present in the NOW, to be conscious of your consciousness, to live fully, freely, & to create your mental, emotional, & physical world, deliberately.

When you choose to be self-aware you will be less likely to run on automatic mental/emotional programs that could potentially be harmful to you (and others).

Like, lighting up a cigarette without thinking about it, or, lighting up a cigarette the second you get stressed. Or, responding disrespectfully because your triggered & not taking a moment to self-regulate.

When doing this self-reflection exercise, refrain from using your thoughts and words against yourself or over analyzing in an unconstructive way.

Breathe, b r e a t h e, BREATHE!

This exercise is NOT for dwelling on “problems” in a negative manner. It’s not to criticize yourself. It’s not to keep you replaying the past or stressful situations in your mind.

Benefits of Self-Auditing Daily…

This exercise is intended to help you:

  • Get to know yourself on deeper levels
  • With becoming aware of your mental, emotional, & physical health
  • To give you clarity
  • Intentionally align & direct your energy & focus
  • To free up & create energy within yourself, so that you can deliberately create the life of your wildest dreams.

Your relationship with yourself sets the precedent for every relationship you have (friends, family, partner, nature, life, and your business/job).

Self-auditing is a highly useful exercise for conscious living and self-improvement. But please don’t forget! This is not about perfection. It is about intention. The deeper you can love and serve yourself, the deeper you can love and serve another.

Heal yourself, heal the world. It starts with you so keep MAKING time for you!
